Getting to Withington Baths

We are just a short walk from the heart of Withington Village, with excellent public transport links. You can easily reach us by bus or tram. The 111 bus stops right outside our building, and we’re only a few minutes’ walk from Withington Village, which is served by routes 25, 41, 42, 42A, 42B, 42C, 43, 87, 142, 143, 147, 728, 734, 749, 763, and 781. The nearest tram stop is Burton Road, just 0.4 miles away.

Accessibility at Withington Baths

We are committed to making our facilities as accessible as possible and ensuring all visitors feel welcome.

Access to our building & facilities

Here’s what you need to know about access to our building and facilities:

  • Building Entrance: You can enter via a ramp or five steps. The main door opens inwards and is not automatic, but our employees at Reception are always happy to assist.

  • Pool & Leisure Centre Access: These facilities can be reached via an accessible lift or a staircase with twelve steps. Lift doors are not automatic, please let a member of the team know if you need assistance.

  • Poolside Access: An automatic door opposite the lift opens with the push of a button.

  • Changing Facilities:

    • There is an accessible changing room on Poolside with an outward-opening door.
    • Another accessible changing room is available in the Changing Village, with an inward-opening door.
    • The Changing Village is accessed via a non-automatic door. Poolside access from the Changing Village is also via a non-automatic door.
    • The Changing Village includes an accessible toilet and shower, as well as a family toilet with a shower, both have outward-opening doors with handles.
    • An additional accessible toilet is located between the lift and the Gym, requiring a radar key for access (door opens outwards via a handle).
    • Please ask a member of the team know if you need assistance with these doors.
  • Swimming Pool Access: The pool can be entered via six steps with a handrail or a pool hoist. Please inform Reception upon arrival or speak to a member of the team on the Poolside if you require the hoist. The shallow end of the pool is 0.9m deep.

  • Gym Access: The Gym is wheelchair accessible via a non-automatic door.

  • Café & Studio Access: Both have step-free access.

  • Inclusive Classes: We offer a range of classes suitable for different abilities, including Chair Yoga and Silver Circuits. Please get in touch for guidance on the best classes for you.

  • Withington Works Co-Working Space: This space is not wheelchair accessible. It is located on the first floor and can be reached via a flight of nineteen steps with a banister. Entry requires a door code and lever turn, please ask Reception for assistance if needed.
