Withington Works at WPHI combines the focus of a dedicated co-working space with the relaxed, community feel. Enjoy spacious tables, meeting pods, super-fast Wi-Fi, easy-to-access sockets and more while sipping on unlimited, complimentary hot drinks. And when you need to take a break, you can get up from your table or pop out without worrying about losing your space.
Our co-working hours at WPHI are 9am-4pm Monday to Friday.
Most days the building is staffed beyond 4pm so co-working can often continue beyond this time, with the exception of Tuesday when the building closes at 4pm.
On Monday, Thursday & Friday WPHI opens as a pub at 4pm, so there’s no official end time for co-working on these days, and you can stay working in the pub for as long as you wish, subject to evening event bookings.
You can book a spot in advance or walk-in on the day.
More than just a workspace, Withington Works at WPHI is a true community hub.

Built in 1861, Withington Public Hall Institute first acted as a public library, with a members’ club downstairs from 1906. Since re-opening as a community-run space in 2020, it’s run as a not-for-profit pub and event venue in the evenings. And now, it has welcomed Withington Works to bring fresh energy to the space, transforming it into a vibrant daytime co-working hub.
Upstairs, the space has been newly renovated to create a bright, welcoming environment for co-working. Whether you’ve seen it before or are visiting for the first time, the transformation brings modern comfort while preserving its charm – perfect for people looking for an inspiring setting.
Become part of this community hub’s history and connect with fellow remote workers, freelancers and entrepreneurs.
